Pumpa's Hut

The Aroona Hut was built in 1925 as an outstation for Eddie Pumpa. It consisted of a 4 roomed dwelling with a stone fire-place and a verandah running along three sides. The house is a typical pug and pine construction. Slabs of native pine were cut and erected side by side. Chicken wire was nailed to this framework and mud or pug was flushed to fill the gaps.
