Bay Escarpment Track along the shore line, hundreds of steps

cutting small holes into the edge of the sole and attaching shoelaces to it to save my shoe

I desperately needed a toilet and went to a golf course.

all the way after the Tararuas to Wellington in one day, about 100k with more or less elevation, sun burning on my skin...found an umbrella, so many stairs, first time seeing the South Island
