    As we continue our journey, the desert draws closer. Around midday, we stop in Tinghir, a charming town nestled at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Known for its beautiful palm groves and the nearby Todra Gorge, Tinghir has a rich history, with remnants of ancient ruins that tell stories of the town’s past. It was once an important trading and farming hub, and its surrounding landscapes are dotted with kasbahs and old Berber settlements.

    A local guide took us through the town and its ruins, sharing fascinating insights into Tinghir’s historical significance and way of life. This was our final stop before venturing into the vast, golden expanse of the desert.
