K'Gari / Fraser Island

We spent the day exploring K’Gari Island, and it easily became one of the highlights of the trip. Our first stop was Lake McKenzie, with its unbelievably clear water and powdery white sand perfect for a refreshing swim. From there, we wandered through the rainforest at Central Station, once home to the island’s old timber industry, before heading to the coastline to see the famous shipwreck lying dramatically on the beach.

Along the way, we spotted whales migrating offshore and even caught glimpses of wild dingoes roaming freely. The mix of pristine nature, wildlife, and history made the day unforgettable. We loved every moment of it.Read more
