Brisbane turned out to be a pleasant surprise: quiet, green, and so far my favorite city in Australia. I’m not sure I’d say the same in the middle of summer, but in this season it felt just right.
We spent the morning walking through the Botanical Gardens and wandered over to Kangaroo Point for views of the river and skyline. For lunch, we stopped at The Prawnster, a family-run spot where you sit on a boat and eat fresh local prawns straight from the source a true local treat.
By evening, it was time to say goodbye to the east coast as we caught a flight to Perth, ready to kick off the next chapter of our month-long trip.Read more
