Day 1: Arrived in Iquitos

I arrived in Iquitos on July 10th on a layover flight from Lima with Rachael and Crystal. We traveled on an overnight flight from NYC and were super exhausted! We checked into the Hotel Jungle House excited for our adventures. We met with other Morpho ARIE folks and went out to dinner at Dawn at the Amazon. It was my first time eating patarashca, a steamed fish in “bijao” leaves. On our way to dinner, it was pouring rain. After dinner, there was a local cultural festival happening.
