Stromness, South Georgia Island

Stromness is a former whaling station and was the destination of Ernest Shackleton's rescue journey in 1916.

We arrived in the afternoon and it was very windy, cold with sleet. We chose to stay in the warmth of the ship. Most went a shore, but many wished they had also stayed on board.Weiterlesen
