Eidfjord to Bergen

We departed Eidfjord driving through beautiful Norwegian scenery stopping at Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall before arriving in Bergen which is known as the capital of the fjords.
Situated on a peninsula surrounded by 7 mountains the history of Bergen is closely connected with the sea and this is very noticeable, especially at the city’s picturesque waterfront. In the afternoon we visited Bryggen, the city’s historic harbour district with wooden structures lining the waterfront; it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979. We then visited the traditional Fish Market and the city centre with St. Mary’s Church and Haakon’s Hall. We also took the Floibanen funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen.Læs mere
