• MV Tucano - Manaus

    On our way back from the Meeting of the Waters, we visited Lake Janauari Ecological Park, where traditional dancers treated us to a lively performance.

    At sunset, the MV Tucano once again turned her bows upstream on the Rio Negro, making her way to our overnight anchorage north of Manaus. As we passed in front of the city, we marvelled at the scale of one of the world’s largest and most vibrant port cities — standing over a thousand miles from the sea.

    That night, before our farewell dinner, we gathered on the deck, sipping Osmar’s signature Caipirinhas, as we reminisced about our unforgettable journey through the Amazon. Aside from the occasional barge and local fishing boat, our vessel drifted alone on the vast, silent waters of the Rio Negro.

    Early the next morning, we disembarked and spent the day at our accommodation, awaiting our 2:20 am flight to Iguassu Falls—the next chapter of our adventure.
