Great monkey sighting at Manuel Antonio beach. I think these are Capuchin monkeys. Nice iguana too.

Today’s new experience

Iguana Libre

At a cute ecolodge and we have the entire place. It’s simple but really cute. And the Swiss couple who runs it is wonderful.
El Pavon waterfall

Boruca masks

Every year we try to find this one family of mask artists. They are part of an indigenous tribe and are selling their work on the side of the road. Prices are so much better this way. Students made Czytaj więcej
El Descanso

We are in the Terraba indigenous community of El Descanso. We are in indigenous territory now and it is one of 8 communities in CR. The culture disappeared for a time after the Spaniards arrived here. Czytaj więcej
Petroglifo

The students visited a sacred site to the community of Brörán. The rock dates back to a family from before the Spanish came. As the students arrived to the site after a hike down, they experienced Czytaj więcej
Cocoa workshop

Students are learning how to make chocolate from the cocoa plant. The yellow pods contain the seeds encased in a delicious white and gooey fruit. We have to roast the seeds and then remove the skin. Czytaj więcej
Today’s tasting

…is grenadilla. Related to the passion fruit I think, it opens to a gelatinous goo with seeds. It’s tasty.

Rafting
