    Nusa Penida

    October 18, 2015 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Back from "Java" there us still two islands left on the map! So I went to "Nusa Penida" a beautiful remote and local island! Even so the tourism is coming more and more.
Actually not a big island but it takes ages to get somewhere with bumpy roads. Even worse is that they don't have many road signs where to find something. Still a pretty cool island to explore! And apparently one of the best diving spots of the world are around there.
But once I found out that on the southern cliff coast "Manta Rays" are living one thing was sure, that I had to see them!
And the luck was on my side, as when I wanted to hire the expensive boat (a smal local traditional fishing boat) two more people turned up and we could share the costs (20$).
After an one hour ride at the rough sea we reached the "Manta Point" and I got to jump into the water with them! It was pretty impressive to the these huge animals close up. They a curious about you and swim right ,with the big mouth open, to you - just before they turn! Unfortunately the sea got rougher and rougher that we couldn't stay long enough and made our way back along the 300m cliff which raises strait out of the ocean.
