We had to rush to get the ferry in the morning! We needed to book the campsites, buy ferry to tickets, a map, pack most of your stuff(because we needed it for the night) and finally drive for another 2,5h. But movie like on the last minute we made it!
Once on Frase Island, we repacked and started to walk north, to do the "Great Walk".
We planned on hitchhiking north, but this didn't work out at all! So we changed plans and walked up the road to the "Valley of the Giants", for the first night. The next day we went to "Lake Wabby". Pretty cool to swim in a freshwater Lake surrounded by sanddunes!
Me made it all the way down to "Lake Benaroon" and north again to "Lake McKenzie". Which stands out with is exeptional clear water. Two tress in the water looked like some Wallpaper from a travell agency!

Um die Fähre nach "Fraser Island" zu erwischen hieß es bald aufstehen. Da wir noch unsere Sachen zu packen, die campsites zu buchen, die Tickets und eine Karte zu kaufen, hatten und letztlich noch 2,5 Stunden zu fahren. Aber wir haben es filmreif gerade so auf den letzten Drücker geschafft!
Dort angekommen wurde erstmal richtig der Rucksack gepackt. Danach ging es los nach Norden, der Plan war nach "oben" zu Trampen und dann nach Süden zu wandern. Dies hat mal gar nicht funktioniert! Also haben wir unseren Plan geändert und sind auf der Straße bis zum "Valley of the Giants" gelaufen, wo wir die erste Nacht verbrachten.
Am nächsten Morgen ging es weiter zum "Lake Wabby". Es ist ziemlich cool in einem Frischwassersee zu schwimmen umgeben von Sanddünen!
Weiter südlich ging es bis zum "Lake Benaroon" danach wieder nördlich zum "Lake McKenzie", der sich durch des unglaublich klare Wasser auszeichnet. Zwei Bäume, die im Wasser standen, wirkten wie ein "Ab in den Urlaub" Plakat!Leggi altro
