This morning I got an early start. I wanted to get our big climb of the day done before the heat. I started walking at 5:30. We had beautiful views of castle crags, alpine lakes and Mount Shasta throughout the day. We pushed it to get to camp at porcupine lake. We arrived around 5 so we had time to swim and there was even a little canoe that someone just left there. The water was a perfect temp, brisk but not too cold.
