    Fort Edward

    17 juin 2024, États Unis ⋅ ☀️ 64 °F

Today we traveled 30 miles and thru 4 locks arriving at the Fort Edward Yacht Basin (free wall) at 1pm. The wall here is much higher than the one last night making it more difficult to get Moki off but we’re making it work. Not allot of interesting landmarks on the way or perhaps I missed them. We did see the C-Dory Hunky Dory again. They were going much faster than our 6 kts and were heading to Whitehall about 25 miles north. Whitehall is our goal tomorrow. Outside of normal work, today I spent considerable time figuring out the new CDC regs for importing dogs. When we left Punta Gorda we had everything we needed to enter Canada and return to the US… but late last month the CDC decided to make it far more difficult to bring a dog back into the US. And the new rules take effect 8/1. So lots of loopers scrambling to comply. There’s now a special form which won’t be available till mid next month and a USDA certified vet (fortunately mine is) has to fill out a second required form. And the second form has to be signed off by a USDA vet (a fed) in NC. Major pain!! But I made good progress and looks we’ll have what we need before leaving stateside.En savoir plus
