The last couple days we made some tracks. Originally planned to arrive in Barrie on Sunday so I could take the train to Toronto to fly back to Florida for workshops… But Debbie is now affecting weather up here so yesterday we rescheduled to arrive tomorrow and then today rescheduled again. Barrie is on Lake Simcoe and it was a 25 mile crossing to get here. Tomorrow would have been a crappy ride. Today was choppy but ok. Since I last posted (I took a 2 day hiatus!!) we covered 87 miles (49 today) and 12 locks (6 today). Somewhere in that mix we hit the crest and are now going down to Georgian Bay and Lake Heron. One of the six locks today was another lift lock. This one brought us down 49 feet. I got some video 🙌. Barrie will be James and the animal’s home for about 9-10 days and mine for another three. We are in the City Transient Marina which is separated from the city’s very big long term lease Marina. We have a nice park adjacent and are in the heart of downtown. It seems like a pretty vibrant city. More exploring to come. Moki and I just scratched the surface.Read more
