Wolf Island

Today was nice. We didn’t leave the lock wall until 10:30 this morning as we waited out the rain. We also didn’t have a real goal in mind. But around 1:30 we stopped at a lock wall to let the dog out for a walk and a guy there told us Lovesick lock was really nice because it was an island and there were trails. I had previously read it was a popular lock that often filled. When we arrived there was room for us but we would have been sandwiched between two large boats. We declined since adjacent is another island that is an Ontario Provincial Park with boat access and trails that we could anchor off. So we are now anchored off Wolf Island with Lovesick Island lock in front of us. There is a bridge across the water outfall that connects the two. Here we have more privacy, can run the generator if we choose, and explore with the animals. There’s some pretty cool rock features. Decent kayak exploring too. It was a great call to stay here and I didn’t find it ! Secchi 3.1 in 4M. Total miles today 15 and only two locks. Very pretty lakes along the way.Weiterlesen
