Daytrip to Island Faial

Early in the morning we took the ferry to Faial and drove straight to the big crater for a hike. Caldeira do Cabeço Gordo is the center of the island. The volcanic crater is definitely one of the highlights of the island. The huge crater is about two kilometers in diameter and 400 meters deep.

After the hike we wandered around the town visited the iconic Peter Café Sport which is a place all the sailors go to when they stop at Faial during their sailing trip around the world. You can also find hundreds of paintings along the coast with all the teams who sailed around the world.もっと詳しく
