Glenmorangie Distillery – Dornoch, Scotland 🥃🚐✨

Vanilla and I pulled into Dornoch and couldn’t resist a stop at the world-famous Glenmorangie Distillery, perched on the edge of the Dornoch Firth. Founded back in 1843, this Highland gem has been perfecting its single malt whisky for nearly two centuries. The name itself means “valley of tranquillity” in Gaelic – and with the calm water stretching out in front of the distillery, it really feels like the perfect fit.

Inside, the copper stills tower higher than any others in Scotland, creating that trademark Glenmorangie smoothness and elegance. You can sense the mix of heritage and innovation in every corner – and every dram. Standing there, glass in hand, you’re not just sipping whisky, you’re tasting a piece of Highland history.

For anyone cruising the NC500, this isn’t just a whisky stop – it’s a moment to soak up tradition, scenery, and a splash of the good stuff before hitting the road again.
