    🐧 Cape Wrath – The Trip That Wasn’t

    Well… I rocked up to Keoldale Pier today, full of beans, ready for my “end of the world” adventure. The plan: ferry across the Kyle of Durness, rattle along in the minibus, tea and cake at the lighthouse café, dramatic selfies with the Atlantic crashing behind me. Easy.

    Except… no ferry. Not a sausage. The skipper had clearly decided the weather, the tide, or maybe even his lunch was more important than my big NC500 moment. There I was, standing on the slipway, staring across the Kyle like a rejected extra from Cast Away, while Vanilla sat smugly in the car park with the best view in town.

    So instead of cliffs and crashing waves, I got a bracing blast of Highland wind and the knowledge that Cape Wrath is still out there… mocking me. On the bright side, at least I saved money on the minibus ticket and avoided a midgie ambush. Silver linings.
