Drumbeg – Pulling Over for Pure Magic 🌊🏔️🚐

I just rolled Vanilla along one of the most outrageous single-track roads yet—tight bends, blind summits, and the occasional sheep standing in the middle like it owns the place. Then, out of nowhere, Drumbeg appeared. Not so much a village as a scattering of cottages, but it’s the views that make you slam the brakes and dive into a passing place.

I hopped out and straight to the Drumbeg Viewpoint, camera in hand. The scene is jaw-dropping: lochs peppered with little islands, the kind of water that shimmers differently every time a cloud shifts, and a horizon that just seems to go on forever. It’s wild, raw, and so utterly still that even Vanilla seemed to take a moment to admire it.

There’s a tiny shop here too—proper hidden gem stuff, with local crafts and treats that make you feel like you’ve discovered a secret. But honestly, it’s the view that steals the show. You stand there, wind tugging at your jacket, and you can’t help but grin at the sheer drama of it all.

Drumbeg might be small, but it’s the kind of place that carves itself into your memory. One of those perfect NC500 pauses—engine off, photos snapped, lungs full of Highland air—before tackling the next twist of the road.

📍 Highlight of the stop: That sweeping vista over Eddrachillis Bay. Vanilla’s windscreen will never do it justice.
