🚐 Vanilla & The “Next Year” Lesson

I came across a cartoon today that stopped me in my tracks. It showed a man at different ages — young, middle-aged, old — always dreaming about his campervan, always saying “Next Year.”
By the final panel, the only thing left was a gravestone. No van. No trips. Just “too late.”

And that’s when it hit me. That could easily have been me.

    🌍 Why Vanilla Exists

I bought Vanilla because I didn’t want to keep waiting. I didn’t want to wake up one day and realise I’d spent a lifetime saying “next year.”

Now, instead of waiting, I’m out there:
    • Driving winding roads through the Highlands.
    • Flying Nemesis and Zoom over sea lochs at sunset.
    • Parking up by a pub in a village I’ve never visited before.
    • Watching the stars through the pop-top roof, with the heater humming away.

Vanilla isn’t just a van. She’s my reminder that life doesn’t wait.

    🕰️ The Big Takeaway

Every “someday” is just another excuse.
The NC500, Applecross, wild beaches, hidden glens — these aren’t things to put off until the calendar looks tidy. They’re things to do now.

    Because life isn’t a rehearsal.
    Because next year isn’t promised.
Because the best time to live is this year, this day, this mile on the road.

    ✨ Final Thought

I’m glad I chose not to wait. Every trip with Vanilla proves that saying yes today is better than dreaming about tomorrow.

Here’s to more roads, more drone flights, and fewer “next years.”
