The stroll down into the village takes you straight to the Caledonian Canal ⛵. Watching boats work their way through the famous staircase of locks is like free entertainment – crowds gather on the towpath as yachts and cruisers shuffle up and down like pieces on a watery chessboard.

A wander along the canal leads straight into Loch Ness 🐉. No monster today (unless you count a noisy tour group) but the view of the loch stretching away into the mist is worth the stop.
