  • Belfort

    7 de mayo, Francia ⋅ 🌙 10 °C

Late-night wander around the mighty Citadel of Belfort 🇫🇷

Crossing the old bridge and heading through this huge stone gateway felt like stepping back into another century. The fortress walls tower above you, the grass-covered ramparts glow under the lights, and everything goes eerily quiet apart from your own footsteps on the cobbles.

Belfort really knows how to do atmosphere at night. Proper old-school military engineering… built to impress and intimidate in equal measure. Vanilla parked up nearby, camera in hand, and another one of those “this is exactly why I’m doing this trip” moments. 🌍🚐📸

  • Krattigen

    8 de mayo, Suiza ⋅ ☀️ 14 °C

Stopped by the lake at Krittegen today and honestly couldn’t stop taking photos. Switzerland just keeps throwing scenes at me that look like they belong on a giant wall calendar. 🇨🇭📸

The mountains reflected perfectly in the water, the clouds rolling through one minute and sunshine breaking through the next. Even the air felt expensive. Vanilla was parked up nearby while I wandered around with the camera like a man trying to photograph every square inch of the place. 🚐

Places like this make you slow down a bit. No rush, no stress, just silence, fresh mountain air, and scenery that completely blows your mind. Switzerland really is on another level.

  • Camping Jungfrau

    8 de mayo, Suiza ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

Just booked into Camping Jungfrau in Lauterbrunnen 🇨🇭🚐

What a place. Proper bucket-list scenery. Massive cliffs, waterfalls everywhere and the sound of cowbells in the distance like you’re in a Swiss chocolate advert 😂

Vanilla has made it into the Alps and I already know this is going to be one of the highlights of the whole trip.

    Lauterbrunnen is absolutely unreal. 🇨🇭🏔️

Waterfalls pouring off giant cliffs, snow-covered mountains in the distance, tiny Swiss chalets and that little church right in the middle of the valley… it honestly feels like stepping into a film set.

One of the best views of the trip so far from Vanilla. 🚐

  • Wengen

    9 de mayo, Suiza ⋅ ☀️ 14 °C

I spotted this pile of stones in a quiet Swiss village and for some reason absolutely loved it. Nothing flashy, nothing famous… just simple rocks stacked together against that perfect Alpine backdrop. It somehow captured the whole mood of Switzerland for me — calm, tidy, timeless and quietly beautiful. Sometimes the photos you end up liking most aren’t the big landmarks at all… they’re the little unexpected moments you nearly drove past. 🇨🇭🪨📸Leer más

  • Day 5

    10 de mayo, Suiza ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

Today, John leaves the valley of Lauterbrunnen and points Vanilla towards Pontresina, deep in the eastern Swiss Alps. 🇨🇭🚐

    The plan sounds simple:
follow mountain roads south through lakes, glaciers, forests and high Alpine passes until the scenery becomes almost too ridiculous to process properly.

After days beneath the waterfalls at Camping Jungfrau, today feels like the next proper chapter of the adventure. The roads climb higher. The mountains become wilder. Switzerland starts showing off properly.

There’ll be coffee stops somewhere above the clouds, countless photo opportunities beside turquoise lakes, and probably several moments where Vanilla ends up parked in silence while John simply stares at the view wondering how life somehow led from Staffordshire to this.

Not bad for an old HGV driver.

The route towards Pontresina promises everything Switzerland does best:
snow poles, mountain tunnels, impossible bends, tiny villages, glaciers, dramatic skies and roads that look like they were designed by somebody who thought brakes were optional.

And beyond all this waits Italy, the Dolomites, Tuscany, Croatia and eventually Bosnia.

But today is about the drive itself.
    One more huge Alpine crossing.
    One more unforgettable road.

  • Leaving Lauterbrunnen

    10 de mayo, Suiza ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

Leaving Lauterbrunnen felt a bit like driving out of a film set. 🚐🇨🇭

Vanilla parked beneath towering cliffs, waterfalls crashing down from impossible heights, snow still clinging to the mountains in the distance… it genuinely didn’t look real. One last stop for photos before rolling out of the valley and continuing the great NIX European Drift.

The clouds were hanging low, the air was fresh enough to wake the dead, and every few minutes another waterfall seemed to appear from nowhere. Switzerland really does know how to show off.

I’ve seen some amazing places already on this trip, but Lauterbrunnen absolutely hit differently. One of those rare locations where you just stand there quietly for a minute thinking… “how on earth is this an actual place?”

Vanilla looked right at home too, sat there in Indium Grey with the orange trim glowing against all that dramatic alpine scenery. Not a bad parking spot really. 😎📸

  • Sankt Moritz

    10 de mayo, Suiza ⋅ ☁️ 8 °C

    St. Moritz, Switzerland 🇨🇭

Sometimes a photo ends up becoming more than just a photo.

Stopped outside Hotel Waldhaus am See today and found this huge mirrored sphere sitting quietly in the gardens overlooking the lake. At first glance it just looked like modern art… but then the whole world appeared inside it.

Vanilla, the lake, the mountains, the trees, the grey Alpine sky — all wrapped into one perfect reflection.

I love how the photo feels calm and slightly surreal at the same time. The branches hanging over the top almost frame the scene like curtains in a theatre, while the silver sphere turns the Swiss Alps into something that looks almost like another planet.

No drone needed for this shot. Sometimes the road simply gives you a photograph.

Switzerland continues to feel unreal. Every bend in the road seems to reveal another scene that looks like it belongs on a postcard or a film set.
