Nicolas LantoingOuais lieu assez incroyable, favelas colombienne qui est passé de lieu le plus dangereux de Medellín a attraction touristique en à peine 10ans après plusieurs efforts d'urbanisme.

The first day of the trek, was supposed to climb all the way up to finca la playa but after 10km and 1200m of positive elevation had to accept I would not be able to do it, found a place to camp and decided to do the second half the second day.Читать далее

Got super lucky with the weather, got a good view on nevado del Tolima on the way to la finca primavera which was the main goal of this trek so happy face time!

Was planning to walk around once I pitched my tent at the refuge but not the strength anymore.Читать далее

Return from the refuge, only got a cereal bar for breakfast and it took me 6h40 to do what took me 2 days to climb. Got foggy weather at the first half and finally the sun showed up when I was back at the jungle level.

Every part of my body is in pain, need a good shower, a good sleep and to eat something!

Couldn't climb the volcano puracé as it is currently on yellow alert but got a good view on the Andean Condor and got some very interesting views here.

Open air museum where are exposed most of the carved statues from the precolombian people that populated the place.

Had a blast here the place is really well maintained and walking in the jungle while watching some 6000yo statues is wonderful.

Ok second day was tough, wake up at 5am quick breakfasts then we were on the go.

Morning was tough but nice, sunny with some nice views, a lot of climbing on muddy paths (been raining all night).

Got to eat some of the best watermelon and pineapple of my life on the way up (offered by locals). We were quickly into Kogi territory, all dressed in bright white (didn't took any pictures of them because it felt disrespectful).

Then after lunch shit started, it got incredibly hot with still some tough climbing and started to make a heatstroke.

Once I finally managed to refresh myself and reached the top we fell suddenly under heavy rain, 1h30 hiking under heavy rain sometimes forced to walk across some flooded bridge (cf video).

Eventually I survived and reached the camp for my second night. Tomorrow morning we are going to the final step: la ciudad perdida and then will start the way back.

PS paid the toll price to the mosquitoes... Blood for the blood god.Читать далее

Finally! Did it! Back to the civilisation, after the last uphill section we got in sight of the sea and got some fresh air after 4 days of suffocating in the jungle, would have got an erection if I was not so exhausted at the moment.

In the aftermath, my legs are covered by mosquito bites, my feet are ruined at walking days on wet shoes and I am absolutely destroyed but glad I made it.

Now two days to recover before moving to Leticia.

I was expecting a horrible heat and wet climate at Leticia, but actually it is quite windy and "not so bad". (Had to lock myself in my hotel room with AC on between 12 and 4pm thoo).

There is a "funky" feature here where all the parrots from the jungle return to the city at sunset. Oh my god that sounds of hundreds and hundreds of parrots shrieking at the same time, don't go there if you're afraid of birds 😅.

Amazona trek day 1/3

First day, started with a 2h boat trip across the amazon where we spotted many pink dolphins (but couldn't take any pictures, they are too fast). Then we arrived at the Gamboa community which will host us for the following 3 days, we were greeted by a sloth at the entrance.

After lunch we got a small walk in the surrounding jungle, the different kinds of trees and their dangers (and learned that bullet ants actually live in the area...).

Then we took a couple of drinks with some where they shared their culture and (tried) to teach us a couple of words in their language while waiting for night time where fun began: all the tarantulas, scorpions and other funny stuff get out at night. So headlights on, big boots, long sleeved tops and pants (despise the temperature) and we were up for 2 hours in the jungle trying to spot them.Читать далее

Amazona trek day 2/3

Second day, there was a huge tropical storm during the night, it calmed down in the morning but it was still raining. Today will be a wet day.

In the morning we got for a walk to try to spot sloths but when it is raining they climb higher in the trees and are harder to spot. We still managed to see a couple of them but they were so far away we couldn't see much.

By noun the rain stopped and after lunch and a small break we went for a 15km hike in the jungle to reach a lake and spot some caimans.

We were supposed to sleep here in hammocks but unfortunately the storm made them unusable until they dried, so we will do the return at night.

On the way it got all sunny and we were lucky enough to spot a closer sloth and a bunch of monkeys (and bullets ants!).

Once at the lake we waited for night time and our guide managed to catch two small caimans (around 60-80cm longs, adults can reach 4m), and then started the long walk back by night to find a giant viper snake just waiting in the middle of the path.Читать далее

Amazona trek day 3/3

Third day: a small hike in the morning to try to spot more animals, we managed to see a couple of aras and some monkeys but that's most of it. (And a giant 400year old tree).

Then after shilling (and taking a scorpion in my hand at the request of a local with which I had sympathised) finally got back.
