Traditional Dubrovnik Needlework

This lady has a shop just below our apartment. It's in the house that she was born in and she was very passionate about passing on this traditional needlework skill to her children and also keeping the house, despite many offers to sell to restaurants and souvenir shops. Everything you can see in the picture she does by hand, she finds it soothing to do after her day job as an insurance agent. She first started learning when she was 4 years old.

Her daughter also knows the skill but is a pediatrician and her patients say she has the neatest stitches of any doctor haha.
