    Burg Stahleck

    We hiked up to Burg Stahleck today. It has an interesting history - a medieval castle that fell into ruins, and then was rebuilt as a youth hostel in the 1920s. Then it was also used for Hitler Youth conventions and later where youth who didn't fall in line with the party were sent as punishment.

    Today it's back to being a hostel and apparently it's the cheapest way in Europe to stay in a castle for a night.    Read more
