I've been wanting to go to this restaurant in the Jewish Ghetto for a long time but every other time we've been in Venice it was over Shabbat when they are closed.

It's a good thing we made reservations as this is a popular spot. The portions are huge and the prices are fantastic. Everything was so delicious - they aren't kidding about the matzo ball soup being the best!

We then visited the rest of the Jewish ghetto and the Holocaust memorial. I discovered that Éowyn didn't really understand what happened during the Holocaust/Shoah yet although she had heard the terms. We had a difficult but important discussion while sitting in front of the memorial to the Venetian Jews who were taken to concentration camps.

It was interesting to see the police presence by the memorial and in the area, moreso than anywhere else.
