April in BotswanaWe had a successful border crossing and 'foot & mouth' control (where our shoes were treated with chemicals) before arriving at our Kasane camp ground, Thebe River Lodge, on the banks of the flooded Chobe River. Lunch made by Gift, our friendly cook, followed and then we had an afternoon swim. At 3.00 we departed for Chobe National Park, 10 minutes away, for a fantastic game drive during which we saw plenty of wildlife - elephants, giraffe, buffalo, hippo, crocs, kudu, impala, baboon, etc. It was a most successful first visit to one of Africa's great game reserves and it ended on a real high with a sighting of 5 lion has we headed for the park gates.
