This old church named St. Michaelis or in short ‚Michel‘ is one of them. Hamburgs most famous monuments. Throughout the History it lost its tower multiple times, but was rebuild many times.
Nowadays it comes with 5 Organs, a lot of Bells, a height comparable to the big Dome in Rome, Italy and an amazing view over Hamburg.Read more

Probably not that secret for St. Pauli soccer fans but definitely secret for us.
In the famous Millers - where all St. Pauli Games are shown, you will find an amazing place for having a really fresh breakfast.

Elbtunnel

Where most of the people build bridges, Hamburg decided to build a tunnel back in 1907!
Impressive architecture under the river with car elevators. Definitely worth a visit. Especially since it is free ;)

Additional plus: on the other side of the tunnel you will have a great view on the skyline.Read more

Boat Cruise

After the Fishmarket we went back to the Landungsbrücken in order to book a boat cruise in the harbour.
There a plenty of shops offering boat tours down at the landungsbrücken. Just make sure wo walk along the water and you will definitely end up with more options than needed.

We chose the 1 hour tour which is also a clear recommendation and a welcome relieve of the walk.Read more

Fischmarkt Hamburg

We had our alert set to 6am but we nearly did not make it. Too tired. As we found out later there was a shift in daylight savings which meant we had 1 hour less for sleep.
Well honestly... 4 hours is really not enough.

Anyway. We started from the main station via U3 to the Landungsbrücken and from there it was a short walk to the Fischmarkt.
A nice must see in Hamburg and a clear recommendation.Read more
