After the Western Wall we went to lunch at the Olive Hotel and then drove into Bethlehem. We had to go through the Palestinian Gate- a sort of informal, but kinda scary, customs between Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
Our trip to Bethlehem was to visit Jesus’s birth place. The crowds were mighty, but we got there and it was worth the hike. Again- felt like the Amazing Race as we “scrummed” our way through the crowd to the manger and birthplace of Christ and place the three wise men paid homage to the newborn baby.
We also visited the shepherds fields outside Bethlehem and went to a shop that carved nativity scenes from olive wood.Read more
