Doussard to Le Bourg d'Oisans

(12th July, Rest day) Theday started with an early morning nature walk into the nearby marais. A beautiful shady track along the lake front and then into the marshes. Although we could hear plenty of bird life, they proved elusive to photograph. At one point on the lake, we came across a12th century tower that you could climb. Legend has it, a young man became ill and his father imprisoned him here. The doctors daughter fell in love with him and freed him.

After packing up the camp, we picked up a few groceries and drove from Doussard to Le Bourg d'Oisans, at the foot of the mighty L'Alpe D'Huez. The scenery on the drive and surrounding the campground was stunning.Read more
