    Roman ruins

    What else would you expect at the top of a hill - Roman ruins perhaps? Those handy Romans were here long before the Prussians were pushing their weight around. I think it was 43 bc they decided that this looked a likely spot and built a settlement. All that have survived are a pair of amphitheatres which with a bit of sticky tape are still in use. At the peak time one held 60,000 and was one of the earliest places Christians were tortured and killed back in the good old days.Read more
