Palais des Papes

The Palais des Papes is an historical palace located in Avignon, Southern France. It is one of the largest and most important medieval Gothic buildings in Europe. Once a fortress and palace, the papal residence was the seat of Western Christianity during the 14th century.  We didn't actually go in and in fact there isn't much inside to see, but I can confirm that it is big! And I'm sure there would have been some interesting corners inside.Read more
