• Museum Eva Peron

Close to my camping spot I saw there was a museum of Eva Peron. I went there before heading to Villa Gesell. It was interesting basically the museum showed many items related to the social projects of Eva. This was a complex of hotels for the poor, children, disabled and pensioners subsidised by the state. It is still worki g today, the daily rate for all inclusive was Eur 2,5 which includes lodging, and three meals a day. Not sure whether the state will continue subsidising such projects. It reminded me of Russian "Dom Otdixas", and "Lagers". Very similar concept. Peron must have been very socialist and Argentina seems a very socialist country, more than I expected. In general I find South America having strong socialist roots, where that came from.I dont really know but in Argentina it definitely was introduced during the Peron era.Read more
