Back in Santiago

We spent 1 day in Puerto Montt (due to a techno-heavy music festival going on in the main square we quickly termed it “Techno Montt”) and then took a flight back to Santiago, where we arrived in the evening.

After being on the ferry for 24 hours, we were keen to go for a little walk in Puerto Montt, so we devised a little “Mirador-Route” (mirador=viewpoint) and enjoyed some views over the bay of Puerto Montt. There is a lot of German-speaking influence here, so a lot of places have German names (for example, we walked past a minimarket called “Ausblick View”.) We also managed to find a cafe that has soy milk and so Anna was able to enjoy a cappuccino again after weeks of tea only :-)

Finally back in Santiago, we checked into our hostel (again a very nice historical building-turned-hostel) and went to bed. Tomorrow: two days of cycling around the wine region in the Maipo river valley. :-)Leer más
