    Off to see the wizard

    March 18 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 79 °F

We are heading to Las Vegas to see the Eagles. We lunched in Hawthorne and continued down Highway 95. We can see the White Mountains to the west. Too early to stop in Tonapah, so continued to Goldfield. Stopped at Miners Rest RV Park. Just a little parking lot type of RV park but in the middle of historic town. Lots historic junk. It is hot and we are glad for power and AC.Read more

  • Big Boy for Lunch

    March 19 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 91 °F

We haven't seen a Boy Boy restarant for years, but we saw an ad sign along the highway near Tonapah. So when we got to Indian Springs, we stopped for lunch. Back in his college days, Les used to eat 2 Big Boy hamburgers for lunch and loved them. So for old times he had ONE for lunch.
We continued on to Las Vegas and are camped at Oasis RV Resort.

So we Uber Eats dinner so we could leave late, stay as long as possible with Indy at the RV. Took an Uber to the Venetian, so peaceful ride. We left Indy and Cinnamon with a Furbo (dog camera) so we could see them…oops forgot to leave a light on. Just seeing eyes glowing in the Dark. Plenty of barking.
Sphere seats 18,600 people, looks like it is a full house.

  • The Eagles

    March 20 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 84 °F

They played all the main hits from over 5 decades of entertaining. They started off with Hotel California. The encor was 4 more songs including Desperato. The graphics of the Sphere are very complex and can be overwellming. Jill got sick half way through, but came back for the encor. Was the cocert worth the cost? With out a doubt, this was the best ever concert!Read more

  • Waiting for the Uber

    March 20 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 77 °F

We left during the fourth encor song and did not have to fight the crowd. The Sphere was a dedicated Pick up area for Uber, Lift and other car services. We could watch the Uber app to see how was picking us up, what they were driving and the map show where they were as they arrived. The Uber dropped us off right by our RV. These are views of the Sphere from the outside. As the Uber showed up, the Sphere changed being theplanetVenusRead more

  • Red Rock Canyon

    March 21 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F

We had planned to take Indy and drive out Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, but Jill was still not feeling good enough. So she slept in while Les did a recon run out there. It was sunny, but there was a haze. Les wants to return during the winter to do more serious photography. He found that the scenic drive is now a fee area and that the BLM now has a campground.Read more

  • Whiskey Flats

    March 22 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 72 °F

We left Las Vegas, taking I-215 around the west side of town so we could fuel up at Costco. Being Sunday, the traffic was light. We were passed by a group of classic cars, mostly Corvettes .
We stopped for lunch at Beatty. While eating a sheriff zipped through town heading north with lights and sirens. When we started north again, we saw an ambulance south bound, also with lights and sirens. About a mile north of town, the traffic came to a stop. We could see up the road to a curve, a semi across the road. Traffic started to crawl and we finally by passes the accident using dirt driveways or roads.
We pushed on to Tonapah for gas and then to Whisky Flats RV Park in Hawthorne.
