    Armenia - Yerevan

    January 12 in Armenia ⋅ ⛅ -1 °C

    1st night and day in Yerevan. Exhausted and jet lagged, didn't do much. Just walked around without a specific goal.

    Went to some of the major highlights on the way, but will do a proper walk tour tomorrow.

    First impression is that it is dark. Very dark. And that I came in the wrong season. Most streets have trees. This city must be beautiful in spring and summer. Now it's nice, but the mud from the melting snow and the lack of green is a bit daunting.    Read more

    Cut short my Armenian trip because if the snow. I finally booked the rest of my trip (till Taiwan), but the flight is from Georgia, so here's an opportunity to have a glimpse at some other place

    Al-Balad

    Went during prayer time on a Friday. All was closed as expected. This part of town is also called Old Jeddah. It has so much charm. The woodwork on the windows, the balconies and the overall architectural aspect of it is just gorgeous. Being closed gave me the opportunity to see it peacefully and take pictures without anyone in the frame. Such a rare occasion. As soon as 4pm hit, the place became crowded, vibrant and full of life. Finishes the day by the corniche to see the sunset, but failed to do so, as there was way too much traffic. So ended up at the red sea mall running some errands and having dinner at the best Chinese restaurant in town.Read more

    Sunset by the Red Sea in Jeddah

    I failed to see the sunset by the beach the other day, so today I went early. Traffic in Jeddah is fierce.
    Sunset colors are amazing here. And the ambience in the Corniche is familiar and peaceful. Families gather for a picnic by the beach, kids play around and run, some people go swimming. It is so chilled. One thing that surprised me though was the fact that I didn't see anyone running or practicing any kind of outdoor sports (only in the bike lane) There is a massive, colorful bike lane where men and women enjoy a ride. I really loved the environment.Read more

    Chongqing

    Just a night stop over and stroll to the river side. It was nice to see but not super impressed. The food scenario is wild though.
