    Ålesund is known as the Venice of Norway. Our tour gave us a view of ancient and modern Alesund. After a major fire in 1904, the city was rebuilt in the Art Nouveau period.
    We traveled to the city mountain of Mt. Aksla where we had incredible views of the archipelago, town center and Sunnmore Alps.
    Along the way we saw ladders on the roofs of homes leading to the chimney. Heat is critical in Norway so chimney sweeps need access for maintenance.
