Die "Bambouseraie en Cévennes" scheint wahrhaft einem Fiebertraum eines Bambusoholiker entsprungen zu sein. Die schiere Menge an Bambus ist atemberaubend und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Das wäre aber doch schon fast zu entspannt für einen Samstagsausflug, nicht wahr? Um dann doch keine Langeweile aufkommen zu lassen, spazieren wir für unser Mittags-Picknick an den Fluss. Der Weg verlangt es, durch einen Kanal zu waten, wobei eine Teilnehmerin beinahe ihre Schuhe eingebüsst hätte. Retten kann sie diese nur auf Kosten ihrer danach durch Dornen zerrissenen Jacke. Dass auf dem Rückweg auf den (angeblich) stillgelegten Gleisen plötzlich doch ein Zug fährt, und wir entsprechend aus dem Weg hechten müssen, tut sein übriges.

The "Bambouseraie en Cévennes" truly seems to have sprung from a bambooholic's fever dream. The sheer quantity of bamboo is breathtaking and invites you to linger. But that would be almost too relaxed for a Saturday's trip, wouldn't it? To avoid boredom, we walk to the river for our lunch picnic. The path requires us to wade through a canal, where one of the participants almost loses her shoes. She only managed to save them at the cost of her jacket, which was subsequently torn by thorns. The fact that on the way back on the (supposedly) disused railway tracks, a train is suddenly running after all and we have to scramble out of the way does the rest.Read more
