Pézenas ist eine Kleinstadt westlich von Montpellier, die laut meiner Gastmutter ein "must-see" in der Region ist. Da es allerdings keine durch die Schule organisierten Ausflüge dahin gibt, und der ÖV in den Ort kaum ausgebaut ist, beschliesst sie, uns hinzufahren. In einer Nussschale tuckern wir zu dritt dahin. In Pézenas angekommen, stöbern wir erst etwas durch den wöchentlichen Markt, während sie noch einige Besorgungen macht. Die Kleinstadt hat einen wirklich sehenswerten, mittelalterlichen Teil. Am Nachmittag machen wir alle es uns schliesslich dann mit Crêpes und Glace gemütlich. Umso ungemütlicher war für mich dafür der Rückweg mit dem etwas wackligen Auto und (sehr) vielen Kurven.

Pézenas is a small town to the west of Montpellier, which my host mum says is a "must-see" in the region. However, as there are no excursions organised by the school and public transport to the town is hardly developed, she decides to drive us there. The three of us chug along in a cockle shell. Once we arrive in Pézenas, we browse through the weekly market while she runs off to do some shopping. The small town has a medieval part that is really worth seeing. In the afternoon, we all finally make ourselves comfortable with crêpes and ice cream. The way back was all the more uncomfortable for me with the somewhat wobbly car and (very) many bends.Read more
