Got all the gear repacked into the van and truck, was nice and quick from last weekends event, had to do a quick dash to Ensay late Thursday to pick up panels to take to Sale as Buchan grounds was canceled due to being wet. Left home around 12 and got to polo cross grounds around 1 had some lunch, setup camp and then went and setup yards etc ready for cattle marking and the penning area, was a warm and humid day, Had a few drinks with some other camps and steak on the barbie for tea and into bed early.Læs mere

Out of bed early to nice day, finished off the final setup and then the weather turned bad, rain started and then didn’t stop till about 1, Teresa had a 3 runs in the morning and penned 3 in one of her runs, was very wet but the grounds stood up well, not the nicest day for it. Had an hours lunch break and the weather broke for the avo runs, Teresa penned 3 again in two teams but Mel had gone home due to the weather and missed out on a collective 6 for the day. Had an early finish around 3:30, Teresa and her teammates from 2 different teams got a 5th and 4th in B grade, a good outcome for the day slippery performed very well in difficult conditions. They held the agm for the club that night and there is now a new president, Locky Ford, good luck to him and Teresa is back on the committee for another year, had a few bevies at different camps and into bed around 11Læs mere

Ranch Sorting

Up this morning to a cloudy day and then the misty rain started, cooked up a quick bacon and eggs breakfast then a trial run in the arena and way to greasy so the call was made it would be unsafe for rider and beast to run the ranch sorting, that was end of the weekend. While we packed up the P.A gear and judges truck, cleaned the big shed a toilet/shower block, the others pulled down the yards and sorted out the cows ready for pick up. Back to camp and packed up our gear in the drizzly rain, loaded up the horses and hit the road around 10:30 it rained solid all the way home.
