    Day 2

    March 27 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 12 °C

Woke up this morning to rain, the girls had an early start so out of bed at 6:30 in the dark had a cuppa then saddled up the ponies and little bit of light work in the arena before the briefing and a 8:30 start, Teresa, Sas and Jane had two great runs for the day and I spent most of the day on the arena gate. Had the team penning presentation after lunch and the girls ended up with second place in the open a fantastic result, the day stayed rather ordinary with on and off showers, ranch sorting was the afternoon activities and the girls did no good there, was a long day did not finish till 7pm after packing up the arena, big shout out to Paul for supplying a great venue.
The weather cleared up so cranked up the fire pot and sat around till nearly midnight yacking and having a few bevies with Jane, Gayle, Sas, Cal, Teresa and Craig great day and night .

    Day 3

    February 21 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

Another great night camping in the high county cooled down nicely for sleeping, bacon and eggs for breakfast cooked up Jane and cafe style brekky plate couldn’t get much better out in the bush.
Time to start the pack up, a quick morning cuppa with Jane before she set off home and we continued on only takes 1/2 hour or so with the van to get ready to go everything was a bit wet so took a little more time to dry thinks out before we hit the road for the trip home.
Was looking like a great sunny day in the high county but as we made our way home the cloud got thick and was cooler but still humid, back home all unpacked and a quick dust wash off all good.
Another great weekend on the Dargo river, thanks to Jane for the overnight visit we all had a great time 🥃🤓👍

    Day 2

    February 20 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

Was a quiet night at camp with the sound of the river flowing past, had breakfast then went for a drive into Dargo to check phone messages.
Back at camp and the day was warming up, stayed under the shade of the caravan awning while Teresa did some colouring and I did a bit of reading.
Nachos was on the menu for lunch then Craig got a quick haircut and then into the river for a swim was very nice.
Jane arrived around 3 and got the gooseneck setup, lots of thunder and then a bit of rain, steak on the Weber and drinks and laughs under the awning as the rain set in for a bit, great night once again 👍👍

    New Years Day 2021

    January 1 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

Was a very windy night from the east, was a good idea for Jane to get her trusty kubota tractor out with the water tank before we went to bed and give the fire a good drenching and was rather funny with a few drinks under all our belts.
Out of bed around 7:30 and still reasonably breezy, think we all feeling ok a few coffees and cuppa teas to get the day started, Pete and Kane got on the job with the breakfast, bacon and egg rolls, very nice 👍
A little bit of chill out time before we packed up and said goodbye to the Redwood clan and 2020, not a great start to COVID 2021 as the borders are in lock down again and the drive home was busy on the road.
Thanks again to our great friends and bring on a great 2021 👍👍

    New Years Eve Party Day

    December 31, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

The year is coming to a fast end after a tough year of bushfires and COVID, it was time to send it off Redwood style. Packed the van and headed out to Jane and Pete’s Redwood ASH Stud, Kane and Pete had the fire cranked up and a good supply of wood when we arrived, Mel had her self setup in the gooseneck and Kane and Jack had the tent up, parked the van and a quick 5 minute setup we good to go.
Time to get the meat on the spit, lamb and chook, followed by a few afternoon bevies, the day was a bit windy but was warm in the sun but as the day went on the fire was the place to be.
The girls finished preparing all the tucker and then got their drinking boots on, dinner was great and a big shout out for Jane’s scallop potato with sweet potato a great combo.
Lots more drinking and yakking, and lots of laughter as we made our way to midnight, Jane made the party with her backwards redwood cap and a swag of midori’s on the go.
No countdown just a cheer for the end of 2020 and a little burst of fireworks from far away, we made it till 1 o’clock in 2021 and hit the sack.
What a crazy year, thanks to all our great friends for making the end of it good, with our few COVIDSafe get togethers.
