    Competion Day 2

    June 9, 2019 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Woke up this morning to a great day, sun out no wind fired up the Webber and cooked bacon and egg muffins for breakfast. Had a good night around the fire last night chatting to lots of people, Teresa’s name got drawn out of the raffle tub and she picked out a meat voucher, happy days and I had a go in the auction for a hand painted cross cut saw and had the winning bid at $130 with the proceeds going back to the Buchan Rodeo club.
Team penning got off to 9 o’clock start and got through the 63 teams by 2 o’clock in the afternoon, Teresa and Holly did some great work in there runs but ran out of time in both, stayed for the presentation to see who won and then we loaded up the horses and headed home.
Great weekend of camping and horse eventing, typical Buchan weather great Friday, absolute freezing cold Saturday, and then a great day today, lucky we took a good load of fire wood we didn’t bring much home.
Back at home mostly unloaded kicking back having a beverage 🥃🍺

    Competition Day 1

    June 8, 2019 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

Great night around the fire last night with drinks, chicken pasta and garlic bread, Holly and Toby got in around 9pm and set up camp, it was super cold overnight woke up this morning to a good frost. Slow start to the day with first ride at 9:30 and Hollys first team only lasted a minute with one of the girls getting bucked off. Jaffles on the fire for lunch and it is still cold haven’t seen the sun yet. Teresa, holly and Kerry did a great job to get their 3 cattle over the line with one other to draft out but he was a very sticky beast and they lost three but managed to penn one in time! On Teresa’s second run not so lucky with the team she was in they let too many over the line and that gets you disqualifiedRead more

Left home this morning around 9:30 with the caravan in tow behind the nearly finished 79 dual cab cruiser for a shakedown run and the horse float behind the BT 50 Ute heading to buchan for the Queens birthday long weekend team penning event. Great mountain day, sun is out with a slight breeze, got the fire going sausage rolls and mini egg bacon things for lunch.Read more
