Left home at 9 into town to grab some last minute things and then on to the great alpine way, stopped for a cuppa just north of Ensay and then onto Omeo, right turn on to Benambera Corryong Road. Got in to Benambera and turned right at the pub on to the limestone road, bitumen for a while then onto to the dirt, good road with a few steep sections arrived at native dog flat camp area around 1, lunch was ready in the travel buddy oven, pastie’s from the Bairnsdale bake house yum yum.
Set up camp beside the Buchan river absolutely magic had a few brumbies wandering through camp for the afternoon, got the fire pot going and cooked lamb shanks and veg in the camp oven with a few beverages happy days.

Left Native Dog Flat around 9 and headed back into Benambera, then made our way up the Corryong road, lots of dirt and bull dust in the corners as they are salvage logging after the fires, stopped along the way on the Gibbo river for a cuppa some great spots to camp along the river.
Was a very scenic drive through the Narial valley, great recovery from the fires lots of hay cutting, arrived at the Colac Colac caravan park around 1, very nice spot to stay on the river and lots of room, drove into Corryong about 6 kms for a look around then back to the park for happy hour and chatting with some guys logging up the bush, had a great time.Läs mer

Was a very warm night, up early and head off to Tallangatta for a cuppa had a wander around and grabbed a couple custard tarts from the bakery yum yum, made our way down to Mitta Mitta stopped and put a couple of pasties in the travel buddy oven and headed ideas of camping on the Mitta river but it was super busy so we just stopped at the big river campsite for lunch and hatched a new plan to head to Dargo. So through the Blue Duck then onto Omeo out the Livingston creek road and then onto the Birregun Road, Jones road and then the Upper Dargo and finally found a quiet spot on the Two Mile creek campsite was crazy busy, had a lot more dust and bit of low range coming over to Dargo but it was a great drive and the van and Ute performed great.Läs mer

Had a very quiet night at Dargo only one other camper at our campsite, the rest of the crowds which looked like Melbourne people had taken over all the sites on the river just absolutely crazy, up early this morning and packed up home at around 10:30, unpacked and washed all the dust off the van ready for the next trip in a couple of weeks, had a great time for our first trip out in the van for 18 months, bushfires and COVID had us land locked 😬😬Läs mer
