    Day 1 Set up

    April 22, 2022 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 12 °C

Has been a busy lead up to get ready, supplying trophy rugs and organising sponsors etc, we managed to get away around 1 after a quick lunch and got to salt creek around 1:30 and set up camp, was a busy afternoon setting up the yards and getting cattle sorted as they arrived, set up the sound system for the night time tunes and settled in for a drink and dinner around the fire pots at the shed, was a good turn out for Friday night with a lot set up camp for the weekend, into bed around 10 for a big day tomorrow.Read more

  • Day 2 Team Penning

    April 23, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Was a cold night had the diesel heater cranked up this morning, up around 6:30 and a quick coffee then off to setup judges truck and sound system, then a final touch to the yards as they looked a bit wide as we finished in the dark last night, setup the pen and then got the truck bogged trying to line up for judging, so that’s where it stayed. We managed to get a start just before 9 and the girls had been getting the ponies ready and were fired up for there runs today, I spent most of the day in the cattle yards and Teresa did a bit of timing in her down time.
They had some good runs and Teresa and Slippery had 3 teams for the day and managed to pen 17 out of 18 and Sas did well too on my horse Cinch, they managed a 6th place in A grade with Locky with a time of just over 3 minutes for the 6 cattle over 2 runs, finished the day off with watering and feeding the cows and then it was drink and dinner which was supplied by the Variety Bash people and they did a great job all weekend, a few drinks and yakking around the fire pots rounded up the day.

  • Day 3 Team Sorting

    April 24, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Up early again but not as cold this morning, over to reset up the yard for the Ranch sorting today, then a quick breakfast before the girls saddled up and I headed off to the cattle yards for the morning’s events, the girls didn’t go so well, just ran out of time on both runs, was all done by 12, so had a big crowd to help pack up and smashed it out in an hour, had lunch and then presentations, packed up camp and said our goodbyes and hit the road was home by 2:30, thanks to everyone for a great event and weekend. 👍👍Read more
