Wouldn't hv thought this city wld be of interest but Beethoven was born here and the steps of the Rasthaus (city hall) had the honour of JFK and the disolution of the USSR was announced here byLeggi altro

Hitler set fire to a huge pile of books right here in the square, in front of those steps you see going left and right. There are memorial paving stones on the ground with book symbols, "standing up to the tyranny".
