Coconut Crab

Huge land crabs that feed on coconuts. Saw these at the same place as turtles. These ones about 20cm across...a guide told us a large one caught recently was over 8kg! First saw them on one of the Survivor shows when it was shot in Vanuatu. Incredibly strong claws and legs ... they crack open coconuts and break up the shell!Read more
