Diablo Coal Mine

We walked 100m down into this old mine, with Pablo, Pauli and the family, to see what it was like as a miner. No thanks! As low as about 1m in places and damp. Children as young as 7 had worked the mine a century or more ago. Days were long, pay was poor, conditions atrocious, but at least the mine owners became the most wealthy in the area, yay! Not.
