Copocabana beach lazy day

Relaxing day here charging up batteries for the cruise. Walked half the length of copacabana beach, fresh fish lunch, then up to rooftop pool for a dip n zzzzzzz.
Christ the Redeemer monument

Huge statue erected to commemorate 100yrs of independence. Opened in 1931. Its 38m tall and stand atop a 730m mountain. Very lush jungle all round it. Magnificent views too.

Awesome city views after 2 cable car rides. Not as high as the redeemer statue so more details visible. Ready for a beer at the top!

Church attached to a monastery. Extremely ornate with gold absolutely everywhere. Could feed many of Rio's poor for a long time.
