Bayonne to Saint Jean

Yesterday was an eternally long travel day, but I finally made it to Bayonne by 7pm. Rested and looked around the quaint old city this morning. Then took the train to Saint Jean Pied de Port midday and met up with Lee here. She has been working at an albergue the last two weeks, and we’ll begin together tomorrow.
This town is so lovely! It’s an old walled city with the quintessential shuttered windows and stone streets.
The weather has been warm and wonderful, but rain and snow move in tomorrow. Sunday looks to be a cold and mushy day to Roncesvalles. It might beat hot burning sun, though. Either way, the Camino awaits!Read more
